課程要求 |
\begin{itemize}
\item All students \underline{must} read the weekly assigned chapter in advance of the class.
% For most students, the subject matter of this course will be rather difficult. For this reason, class attendance is absolutely essential. If you fail to attend class, you will fall behind, and you will have great difficulty catching up.
\item Depending on the number of participants, each student will \underline{present} a couple of papers to the class during the semester. We expect that each presentation to last 30 minutes with the entire session lasting around 60 minutes.
\item A term paper is to be submitted at the end of semester. It should be succinct, summarizing the extant literature, and demonstrate a clear ability to identify relevant issues and research questions. Further the paper must provide a clear indication of the scope for new research with a coherent argument as to why further examination of these problems and research questions is relevant and valuable.
\item Grading policy: weekly reading assignment and class discussion (40\%), seminar presentation (20\%), and the term paper (40\%).
\item The materials (lecture notes, exercises, solutions, etc) will be uploaded to NTU CEIBA.
